What is SAC? The School Advisory Council is a group of caring parents, teachers, administrators and community members. The SAC’s primary responsibility is to develop, implement and monitor the School Improvement Plan (SIP) for Hollywood Central. Voting members are elected by their peers to one-year terms. However, all community members are invited to participate in SAC activities. Meetings are held once a month.
What is the SIP?The School Improvement Plan is a set of goals, objectives and action steps that drive Hollywood Central’s educational activities relating to school improvement and education accountability. Parents, teachers and administrators all have a role in developing these goals. Each plan shall address issues relative to budget, training, instructional materials, technology, staffing, student support services, specific school safety and discipline strategies, and other matters of resource allocation, as determined by district school board policy, and shall be based on an analysis of student achievement and other school performance data.
What is SAF?Broward County and the State of Florida offer numerous avenues for parental involvement and input into their children’s education. One avenue is the School Advisory Forum (SAF).
